Nona FC Travels to Shark Coast FC for Second Meeting of the Season

LAKE NONA — Nona FC returns to action Saturday, June 6, as the Longhorns travel to New Smyrna Beach for their second meeting of the season against Shark Coast FC.

The Longhorns enter the weekend atop the USL League Two Southeast Division standings with six points through four matches. Nona FC is level on points with both Shark Coast FC and Brooke House FC but maintains first place on goal difference.

Nona FC most recently played Brave SC to a 1-1 draw in the ninth edition of the Rodeo Derby. Defender Basit Umar opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a left-footed strike from outside the box on his first start for the Black and Orange before Brave SC equalized from the penalty spot in the second half. Inclement weather forced the match into a lengthy delay before it was ultimately called in the 67th minute.

The Longhorns remain unbeaten through their first four matches of the 2026 season, earning draws against Sporting Jax and Brave SC following a dominant 5-1 victory over Shark Coast FC in the club's home opener on May 20.

In that first meeting, Nona FC delivered one of the most impressive performances in club history. Fabio Bozesan opened the scoring in the 12th minute before Larry Noel recorded the first hat trick in club history, leading the Black and Orange to a 5-1 victory at Austin-Tindall Sports Complex. Michael Appiah added two assists on the night, while Josiah Blanton also found the back of the net.

Shark Coast FC enters Saturday's matchup level with Nona FC on six points in the Southeast Division standings after opening the season with a 1-1 draw against Sporting Jax, falling 5-1 to Nona FC, and earning consecutive draws against Brooke House FC, 2-2, and Inter Gainesville KF, 0-0.

Saturday's contest marks the second of three meetings between the clubs this season. Following this weekend's matchup, the two sides will meet once more on June 27 in New Smyrna Beach.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday from New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The match will be streamed on sportsengineplay.com.
