Nona FC Closes Season with Two Matches Against Inter Gainesville KF

LAKE NONA — Nona FC begins a season-defining two-match series against Inter Gainesville KF on Friday, July 3, with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. ET at the University of Florida Rec Sports Fields in Gainesville. The two sides will meet again one week later on Saturday, July 11, at 7 p.m. ET at Austin-Tindall Sports Complex in Lake Nona to close out the 2026 regular season.

The Longhorns enter the final stretch of the season needing victories in both matches to remain in playoff contention after an up-and-down campaign. Nona FC currently sits second in the Southeast Division standings with 16 points through 10 matches, trailing Rodeo Derby rival Brave SC, which leads the division with 19 points while holding a game in hand.

Nona FC is looking to bounce back after suffering a late 3-2 defeat at Shark Coast FC in its most recent outing. After falling behind 2-0 early, the Longhorns rallied behind goals from Daxton Andrus and Basit Umar to level the match before Shark Coast found the winner in the 90th minute.

The Longhorns have enjoyed plenty of success against Inter Gainesville KF, posting a perfect 5-0-0 all-time record in the series. Nona FC closed out the 2025 regular season with consecutive 1-0 victories over Inter Gainesville, winning first on the road before completing the season sweep at Austin-Tindall Sports Complex.

Inter Gainesville enters the two-game series in strong form, carrying a two-match winning streak after defeating Sporting Jax, 4-1, and Brooke House FC, 3-1, both at home. The Gainesville side sits fifth in the Southeast Division standings with 11 points through nine matches, compiling a 3-4-2 record.

With just two matches remaining, every point is critical as the Longhorns look to keep their postseason hopes alive and complete another season sweep of Inter Gainesville KF.
