NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Nona FC (4-2-4, 16 points) suffered a late 3-2 defeat to Shark Coast FC Saturday night in the third and final meeting between the two clubs during the 2026 USL League Two season.

The loss kept the Longhorns on 16 points through 10 matches, missing an opportunity to close the gap on Southeast Division leaders Brave SC.

Shark Coast FC came out on the front foot, opening the scoring in the fifth minute through Aidan Melville before Giuseppe Croce doubled the hosts' advantage seven minutes later to give Shark Coast an early 2-0 lead.

Nona FC responded quickly in the 18th minute through Daxton Andrus. Making history as the first player from Nona FC 2 to be called up and score for the first team, the defender rose above the Shark Coast defense to head home a K.K. Baffour corner and cut the deficit in half.

The Longhorns found their equalizer just before halftime when Thomas Bowe's long-range effort was spilled by the goalkeeper, allowing Basit Umar to capitalize on the rebound and score his third goal in the last two matches.

With the momentum shifted in Nona FC's favor entering the second half, the two sides battled for a winner until the closing stages. Shark Coast FC ultimately found the decisive goal in the 90th minute through Hector Moreno, sealing a 3-2 victory for the hosts.
