Nona FC Set for Top-of-the-Table Clash Against Sporting Jax

LAKE NONA — Following a dominant 5-1 victory over Shark Coast FC in its home opener, Nona FC returns to Austin-Tindall Sports Complex on Tuesday, May 25, to host Sporting Jax in a matchup between the top two sides in the USL League Two Southeast Division.

The Longhorns earned their first victory of the 2026 campaign in emphatic fashion Wednesday night behind a historic performance from forward Larry Noel, who recorded the first hat trick in club history. Forward Fabio Bozesan also continued his strong start to life in the Black and Orange, scoring for the second consecutive match as Nona FC tied a club single-game record with five goals.

Tuesday’s contest will mark the tenth all-time meeting between Nona FC and the Jacksonville-based side, formerly known as Florida Elite Soccer Academy before rebranding to Sporting Jax in January 2025. The Longhorns hold a 3-5-1 all-time record in the series and will look to bounce back after dropping both meetings against Sporting Jax during the 2025 season.

Last time out at Austin-Tindall Sports Complex against Sporting Jax, Nona FC suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat on May 25, 2025. Bernardo Monteiro scored the lone goal for the Black and Orange off an assist from Abdou Mane.

Sporting Jax enters Tuesday’s matchup with an identical 1-0-1 record to Nona FC but sits second in the Southeast Division standings due to goal difference. The visitors opened their season with a 1-1 draw against Shark Coast FC before defeating Brooke House FC 1-0 in their most recent outing Thursday night.

Tuesday’s match will also serve as Mom’s Night at Austin-Tindall Sports Complex as Nona FC celebrates mothers and their impact on players, families, and the club community throughout the evening.

The two sides are set to meet once more during the 2026 regular season when Nona FC travels to Jacksonville on June 17.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET from Austin-Tindall Sports Complex, in Lake Nona. The match will be streamed on sportsengineplay.com.
