JACKSONVILLE — Nona FC (3-1-4, 13 points) returned to the top of the USL League Two Southeast Division standings Wednesday night, defeating Sporting Jax (1-3-5, 8 points) 3-0 at Mandarin High School Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Longhorns broke through in the 47th minute when midfielder K.K. Baffour curled a free kick into the top-left corner, leaving the Sporting Jax goalkeeper with no chance. The strike marked Baffour's first goal for Nona FC.

The Longhorns doubled their advantage in the 61st minute through midfielder Xavier Rimpel. Defender Basit Umar slipped a through ball into the path of Rimpel, who calmly finished past the goalkeeper to score his first goal in the Black and Orange.

Nona FC continued to control the match and put the result beyond doubt in the 86th minute. Nona Soccer Academy product Pedro Kruschewsky met an Osei Gyamfi cross with a sliding finish at the front post to seal the victory. The goal was Kruschewsky's first of the season and second all-time for the Longhorns.

The win moves Nona FC back into first place in the Southeast Division standings with 13 points through eight matches. The Longhorns now sit one point ahead of Brave SC, although the Buffaloes have two matches in hand.
