LAKE NONA — Nona FC (4-1-4, 16 points) delivered its most dominant Orlando Derby performance in club history Tuesday night, defeating Brooke House FC 5-0 at Austin-Tindall Sports Complex.

The victory marked the largest win in Orlando Derby history and kept the Longhorns firmly in the Southeast Division title race. Nona FC improved to 16 points through nine matches, drawing level with division leaders Brave SC, who hold a game in hand.

The Longhorns opened the scoring in the 19th minute when Basit Umar latched onto a through ball from Xavier Rimpel, beat his defender down the right side, and slotted a left-footed finish into the back of the net for his second goal of the season.

Nona FC doubled its advantage in the 35th minute off a corner kick. Rimpel's service found Andrey Gentil at the back post, whose ball back across goal was met by Beltran Alvarez for his first goal in the Black and Orange.

Just three minutes later, the Longhorns struck again. K.K. Baffour picked out Umar's run into the penalty area before the midfielder laid the ball off to Christian Acevedo, who calmly finished from inside the box to score his first goal of the season.

The Black and Orange capped off a four-goal first half in stoppage time when Thomas Bowe combined with Nona Soccer Academy product Ansel Ledezma, who struck a left-footed finish into the top corner for his first USL League Two goal.

Nona FC continued to control the match after the break, and goalkeeper Bernardo Manzano preserved the clean sheet with an outstanding double save in the 67th minute shortly after entering the match.

The Longhorns completed the scoring in the 80th minute when Danny Pfeffer, the first player from the Nona FC 2 team to get a call up, found Umar at the top of the box. Umar weaved past three Brooke House defenders before finishing with his left foot to record his second goal of the night and seal a memorable 5-0 victory.
