NEW SMYRNA BEACH — Nona FC (2-0-3, 9 points) extended its unbeaten start to the 2026 USL League Two season Saturday night, defeating Shark Coast FC (1-2-3, 6 points) by a 2-1 scoreline in New Smyrna Beach.
After a scoreless first half, the Longhorns broke through in the 54th minute when forward Larry Noel converted from the penalty spot to give the visitors a deserved lead. The goal marked Noel's fourth of the season and his first since recording the club's first-ever hat trick against Shark Coast FC on May 20.
The hosts responded in the 66th minute through Hector Moreno, who leveled the match at one goal apiece and set up a tense finish between two sides separated only by goal difference on the standings entering the night.
Nona FC answered quickly, however, restoring its advantage just four minutes later. Noel latched onto a perfectly weighted through ball before calmly slotting his finish past the goalkeeper in the 70th minute, securing his second goal of the evening and fifth of the season, already propelling the No. 9 to seventh in the all-time Nona FC scoring list.
The Longhorns held firm throughout the closing stages to secure all three points and remain atop the Southeast Division standings. With the victory, Nona FC improved to nine points through five matches and extended its unbeaten run to begin the 2026 campaign.
