Nona FC Gears Up for Away Match at Sporting Club JAX

LAKE NONA – Nona FC returns to action on Saturday, June 14 at 7 p.m., hitting the road for its longest trip of the season as the Black and Orange take on Sporting Club JAX in Jacksonville.

The Longhorns (3-2-0, Southeast Division) are currently in third place in the Southeast Division standings, scoring nine points from five games. Jax (4-2-1, Southeast Division) have played seven matches and lead the league in points with 13 after a 6-2 rout of Brevard SC on June 11 to enter the weekend.

In the highest goalscoring match of the season, Jax became the only team in the Southeast Division to score more than 10 goals during the season, with a current total of 13. Brevard opened the scoring with Johan Magaña netting after two minutes. Jax then responded with three goals in the first half, with Ethan Newsome scoring once and Osei Gyamfi finding the back of the net twice. After a halftime score that saw Jax leading 3-2, the hosts doubled their advantage in the second half when Segun Afolabi extended the lead, followed by Newsome and Gyamfi each netting another goal apiece.

Gyamfi’s three goals in the match represent the first hat trick in the 2025 Southeast Division season for any team, and the first ever for Sporting Club Jax. The match represents only the second time this season that a team has scored more than three goals in one game, after Inter Gainesville’s thrashing of Brevard SC 4-1 on May 24.

Jax find themselves on a three-game winning streak, which is tied with Inter Gainesville KF’s streak for the longest in the Southeast Division in 2025.

Sporting Club JAX is the only team that has a positive record over the Longhorns after multiple matchups, with Nona sitting at 3-4-1 all-time against them.
