Nona FC (1-0-2, 5 points) remained atop the USL League Two Southeast Division standings after a scoreless draw with Sporting Jax (1-0-2, 5 points) at Austin-Tindall Sports Complex. Both teams hold equal points, with the Longhorns leading on goal difference.
In a physical contest featuring nine yellow cards, Nona FC dominated with 12 shots compared to Sporting Jax’s 2. Michael Appiah created early pressure in the 21st minute with a wing strike, then set up Larry Noel whose effort went wide. Thomas Boye sent a shot over the crossbar after the break, and Osey Gyamfi’s 85th-minute attempt missed the target.
Head Coach Bruno Jaeger was encouraged by his side’s performance despite the result.
“I have to congratulate the players for the effort and discipline to stick to the game plan. Stats speak for themselves, we created the better chances and dominated most of the game, therefore deserved the win,” said Jaeger.
Midfielder Kelvin Baffour made his debut in the match, while Xavier Rimpel earned his first start of the 2026 season. The result was the third scoreless draw in club history and the first since May 18, 2024. Nona FC made two changes to the starting lineup from the previous match.
