Nona FC (1-0-1, 4 points) secured its inaugural victory of the 2026 USL League Two season on Wednesday evening, defeating Shark Coast FC (0-1-1, 1 point) 5-1 at their home opener in Lake Nona. Forward Larry Noel delivered a historic performance with three goals.
The home crowd witnessed early offensive dominance. Fabio Bozesan opened scoring in the 12th minute after capitalizing on a rebound from Michael Appiah’s shot. Shark Coast’s situation deteriorated when defender Wade Stinson received a second yellow card in the 31st minute, leaving them with ten players.
Noel scored twice before halftime, in the 39th and 44th minutes, both assisted by Appiah, extending the lead to 3-0. The match also served as Academy Night, honoring Nona Soccer Academy teams for their successful seasons.
After intermission, Hector Moreno reduced the deficit with a 51st-minute goal. Josiah Blanton restored the three-goal advantage at the 76-minute mark with an assist from Noel. Noel completed his hat trick in the 82nd minute following Xavier Rimpel’s shot that deflected off the post.
Head Coach Bruno Jaeger praised the atmosphere inside Austin-Tindall.
“It was special to see the stands packed in orange. The match demanded a lot from us,” said Jaeger.
Noel and Bozesan combined for five goals across two matches to begin the season, while all 18 squad members received playing time during the contest.
