Nona FC Opens 2026 Campaign at Brooke House FC

LAKE NONA — Entering his second season at the helm, Head Coach Bruno Jaeger and Nona FC begin their 2026 USL League Two campaign Saturday, May 16 in the first Orlando Derby of the year against Brooke House FC at Showalter Field in Winter Park, Florida.

After posting an 8-4-0 record and narrowly missing out on a postseason berth in 2025, Nona FC enters the new season looking to secure a return to the USL League Two playoffs. The Longhorns reached the eight-win mark for the fourth consecutive year while continuing to establish themselves as one of the Southeast Division’s most competitive sides.

Despite missing the postseason for the first time in club history, Nona FC’s 2025 season featured several positives, highlighted by a record-setting defensive performance. The club recorded a single-season best seven clean sheets while conceding just seven goals all year, ranking among the nation’s top defensive units. Entering Jaeger’s second season in charge, the returning core and coaching staff bring added experience into the 2026 campaign.

The Longhorns bring back nine players from last season’s squad, including defender Beltran Álvarez Echague and midfielder Abdou Mane, who made nine and five starts, respectively, in 2025. Forward Christian Acevedo also returns as the only player on Nona FC’s 2026 roster to have scored for the Black and Orange in the 2025 schedule. Alongside its returning core, Nona FC adds 20 new players to the squad ahead of the season.

The 2026 group also features strong ties to Nona Soccer Academy, with Sebastian Arismendi, Sebastian Ardila, Fernando Doria, Pedro Kruschewsky, Ansel Ledezma, Sebastian Gonzalez, and Moah Silva all progressing through the academy before joining the club’s USL League Two side.

The Longhorns hold a near-perfect record in the Orlando Derby versus Brooke House FC, boasting a 4-0-1 record over the past two seasons, including three out of three wins in the 2025 slate. Last time out in Winter Park, Nona FC secured a dramatic 2-1 victory, behind a Brandon Nyagurungo brace in the 56th and 88th minutes on June 21, 2025.

Kickoff for Nona FC’s 2026 season-opener against Brooke House FC is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday at Showalter Field in Winter Park, Florida. The match will be streamed on sportsengineplay.com.
